Problems and challenges present opportunities. I wouldn’t even attempt to guess how many times I have said those words, or similar, in coaching sessions, or how many times I have written them in reports. What sort of person are you if you cannot follow you’re own advice? I don’t know is the honest answer, but I did know that I had to try it.
Covid-19 certainly presented the world with massive problems and challenges – you know what happened, you were there. Like most people, I was stuck working from home and had plenty of time to think. Long story short, I decided to take the opportunity presented by the situation I was in and start my own company. My timing is possibly questionable, but if you wait for the perfect moment to do something like this, it will never happen. So, in the middle of a global pandemic, that’s how Organisational Solutions Ltd came to exist.
For those of you that don’t know me, I’ve spent the best part of the last 19 years working for Davitt Corporate Partners Ltd, a leading Corporate and Business Psychology firm based in Dublin, but Covid-19 caused the world of work to jump forward about 10 years. In my opinion, we were always going to end up working somewhat like this. That is, cutting down on commuting, taking a greener approach of working from home maybe 3 days a week, and only going into the office when we really have to.
However, we didn’t have 10 years to prepare for this change; it happened overnight for a lot of us. As a result, the assessment process has to change to suit the new circumstances we find ourselves in. Everything has changed – this is covered in more detail under specific services. The world doesn’t wait for anyone; if we don’t adapt quickly, we quickly become irrelevant.
