Remote Testing for Remote Working
As Remote Working becomes more and more frequent, the ability to test someone as a Remote Worker will become just as important. Conventional assessments are redundant because these people do not contribute to the company in conventional ways. They will need the same ability to be of benefit to the company, but will require different skill sets, to add their particular value.
Microsoft have said that employees who choose to work remotely on a permanent basis will no longer have assigned office space, but rather will be provided with “touchdown space” at Microsoft offices. Other tech companies like Twitter have said that more of their workforce are welcome to work from home permanently.
It has become the norm for candidates to go through their Validation Interviews over VC platforms, such as Zoom, but once we get back to normal and return to meeting most people for some of their assessment and their Validation Interview; it will remain the norm to carry out an assessment on a remote worker, in a fully remote way.
